Single-axis solar trackers (1P & 2P) for utility-scale PV plants

We design and manufacture single-axis solar trackers for ground-mounted PV plants. Every tracker is engineered for your project: its design and tolerances allow fast, cost-effective installation, even on uneven terrain and steep slopes.

1P solar tracker (1V): one module in portrait

Our single-row, single-axis tracker with one module in portrait (1P configuration) supports different layouts to suit each project and reaches up to 64 metres in length. A flexible, versatile solution that follows the terrain and reduces earthworks and civil works.

2P solar tracker (2V): two modules in portrait

The single-axis tracker with two modules in portrait (2P configuration) carries two rows of modules per tracker and reaches up to 36 metres in length. Like the 1P model, it is configured for each plant and offers flexibility and versatility in application.

Multicontrol multi-row tracker

Multi-row single-axis tracker with no mechanical link between trackers, with one or two modules in portrait. Its control system manages up to 15 trackers from a single TCU (Tracker Control Unit); slave trackers operate independently, without communicating directly with the plant NCUs. It combines the best of multi-row and single-row operation, simplifies supervision and reduces the risk of communication outages.

Why choose Alphatracker solar trackers?

  • Project-specific design. No standard solutions: every tracker is adapted to the terrain, the module and the customer’s requirements.
  • Uneven terrain and slopes. Our terrain-following trackers adapt to the topography with patented solutions such as Flexslope, reducing civil works and earthmoving.
  • Agile manufacturing and very short lead times, with first-class materials and suppliers.
  • Over 3 GW delivered worldwide and more than 15 years of team experience in the design, manufacture and supply of PV structures and trackers.
  • Preliminary design in minutes. With MAXI-DESIGNER, our free tool, configure a tracker layout for plants up to 1 MW and get a quote.
  • European manufacturer with five offices: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany and Chile.

Solar trackers for sloped terrain

Many sites have north–south or east–west slopes and irregularities that would require major earthworks with a conventional tracker. Our trackers are designed to adapt to those slopes and to variable post spacing, which cuts civil works, costs and construction time and minimises the environmental and visual impact of the plant.

We study each site and propose the most suitable configuration. See also our terrain solutions and our high-capacity agrivoltaic trackers.

Frequently asked questions

What is a single-axis solar tracker?

A structure that rotates the PV modules around a single axis to follow the sun from east to west throughout the day. The modules receive more irradiance than on a fixed-tilt structure, so the plant generates more energy.

What is the difference between a 1P (1V) and a 2P (2V) tracker?

The 1P tracker carries one module in portrait per row and reaches up to 64 metres; the 2P carries two modules in portrait and reaches up to 36 metres. The choice depends on the terrain, the layout and the project economics, and we advise case by case.

Do your trackers work on sloped terrain?

Yes. Thanks to their design and tolerances, our trackers adapt to uneven terrain and steep slopes, with patented solutions such as Flexslope that reduce earthworks.

What is the Multicontrol system?

Our multi-row control solution: a single TCU manages up to 15 trackers, which can operate independently without communicating directly with the plant NCUs. It simplifies supervision and reduces the risk of communication outages.

How do I request a quote for solar trackers?

Use the contact form and tell us the location, capacity and terrain type of your project. For plants up to 1 MW you can also use MAXI-DESIGNER free of charge and get a preliminary layout and quote in minutes.
